Data Freshness
Meeting, legislation, and contract data is rebuilt nightly from official sources (NYC Council Legistar, NY State Senate, Congress.gov, Checkbook NYC, and individual community board websites). The site reads from those static snapshots, so pages load fast and don't depend on third-party APIs being up at the moment you visit. District and council member information is updated periodically.
Privacy
This site does not track you, set cookies, or send your data to any server. Your zip code, district selection, and display preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage only. Clearing your browser data will reset your preferences. Normal browsing reads only the static snapshots described above, so no visitor information is logged or transmitted anywhere.
